Webster Rauner Exterior Improvements

About this project

Webster Hall, home of the Rauner Special Collections Library, is a 116-year-old landmark building on the Dartmouth campus. A construction project is now underway to address the building's aging copper roof, cornice and masonry exterior. The project features upgraded insulation in the roof system, along with a complete replacement of the building's decorative modillions. The project also features repairs and repointing of the building's brick, limestone, and terracotta exterior finishes.

  • Replace aging mortar  

  • Add new copper roofing and waterproofing measures 

Project Timing

Completion December 2024   

What's currently happening

  • Repointing of the façade is entering its final week and is limited to the immediate vicinity of the loading dock.
  • Washing of the east and west facades is in it's final week. 
  • Painting windows and application of joint sealants are beginning.
  • Structural work at the loading dock stairs is ongoing.
