Corey Ford Rugby Clubhouse

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Constructed in 2005, situated just under a mile north of Dartmouth College core campus, the Corey Ford Rugby Clubhouse is a 6,000 square-foot building with adjacent competition and practice fields. The facility currently houses the men's club and women's varsity teams, and this project will introduce several key upgrades to enhance the building. The new addition, spanning approximately 2,650 gross square feet across two levels, will feature two visiting locker rooms, public restrooms, a mechanical room, and a dedicated office space for coaches. Additionally, the existing structure will undergo a 4,500-square-foot renovation, including a larger locker room for the women's varsity team, along with upgrades to the mechanical and training rooms.

PROJECT GOALS

  • Reconfigure the women's varsity locker room to accommodate a full roster

  • Improve athlete flow to shower and restrooms

  • Install visitor locker rooms and create a separate office for varsity coaches

  • Size and equip sports medicine/training room for varsity team needs

PROJECT TIMING

  • Construction begins in early March 2025, and is anticipated to be complete by June 30, 2026.

  • Construction will be divided into two major phases:

    •  Phase 1 focuses primarily on the addition of visiting locker rooms, public restrooms, an office, and a new mechanical room. The anticipated completion date is December 2025.
      • The existing building will remain open for use during Phase 1.

    • Phase 2 focuses on the existing building renovations, including the women's varsity locker room, restrooms, a training room, and the mechanical room. The anticipated completion date is June 2026.
      • New visitor locker rooms and public restrooms will be open for use during Phase 2. The existing building will not be open for use during Phase 2.

  • A portion of the adjacent Reservoir Lot will be inaccessible and used as construction laydown space for the duration of the project. Construction fencing will be installed to indicate the blocked-off area.

  • The access road from the Reservoir Lot to the clubhouse will remain open. During Phase 1, entry to the existing building will be available through the west egress point.
