Policy Statement

All dogs present at the Skiway are required to be leashed and under the control of an adult at all times. Dogs must not be left unattended (an adult must be present) or tethered to any object. Individuals who bring dogs to the Skiway are expected to clean up after their dogs and dispose of waste in an appropriate manner.

Dogs are permitted only in the area of the parking lot during ski season or other events hosted by the Skiway. Dogs are not permitted on the snow surfaces of the Skiway; this includes but is not limited to race observation areas.

Employees who work at the Skiway, or are at the Skiway for work reasons related to their employment, are not permitted to have dogs on the premises.

Service dogs may accompany members of the general public and employees at the Skiway at all times. The limitations on access set forth below do not apply to service dogs.

Exclusions & Exceptions

Any rights afforded under the Dartmouth College Assistance Animals Policy supersede this policy.

Ramifications

Owners are expected to control and leash their dogs.  Failure to do so could lead to loss of privilege.

Dartmouth may seek restitution for any animal-related damage to College-controlled property, facilities or grounds, or for costs related to the disposal of an animal’s solid waste.  The repair or replacement cost of damaged property is the sole responsibility of the owner of the animal that caused the damage.  Failure to pay may result in disciplinary actions.
