Lewinstein Athletic Center
About the Project
The Lewinstein Athletic Center (LAC) project incorporates energy upgrades, interior renovations, and upgrades to the lobby space, including new finishes.
As part of this project, Dartmouth's Athletic Equipment Room has been relocated to LAC from the basement of Davis Varsity House. These measures ensure equitable distribution of equipment and uniforms among all varsity teams.
The energy upgrades include work to convert the building's heating system from low-pressure steam to campus district water. During this time, heating and cooling equipment will be modified or replaced. This work is part of a campus-wide effort to modernize the campus heating and cooling infrastructure—converting buildings from steam to hot water and installing new distribution piping—work that lays the groundwork for a more modern, flexible system that can adapt as energy technology evolves.
