Rowing Training Facility

For the two weeks beginning June 17 and 24, 2019

Rowing Training Facility

A project is underway to build a new Rowing Training facility and to renovate the Friends of Dartmouth Rowing Boathouse. Together, these two buildings will house all  training equipment used by the three Dartmouth crew teams, allowing them to consolidate their practices at the river. The new facility will house two state-of-the-art, moving-water tanks that simulate rowing on the water. These will allow the rowers to better prepare for the February start to the spring rowing season. Both facilities will be outfitted with ergometers and will be joined by a shared meeting/social space. Boathouse renovations include new life safety and ventilation systems.

What's Happening

The following activities are underway:

  • Interior framing
  • Interior mechanical/electrical/plumbing rough-in
  • Exterior block installation at the base of building

Exterior grading and sidewalk work will begin.

What to Expect

  • A core perimeter site fence is installed preventing through traffic on the river side of the lot.
  • Access to the north past the site (Ledyard, Tom Dent, etc) will be limited to authorized vehicles only.
  • Parking space in the Ledyard lot will be impacted by this project. Channing Cox lot is a good alternative.
