Indoor Practice Facility

Update for the two weeks beginning June 17 and 24, 2019

Construction of the Indoor Practice Facility

Construction of the new Indoor Practice Facility began in mid-January, 2019 and will continue through the winter of 2020. This facility will provide much-needed indoor training space for Dartmouth’s varsity student-athletes during cold and inclement weather. It will be located directly east of the Boss Tennis Center and north of Scully-Fahey Field in Dartmouth’s east athletic campus. The primary feature will be a 56,000 square foot FieldTurf® surface which is nearly three times the size of the temporary turf used inside Leverone Field House’s track.

What's Happening

  • Final sections of slab on grade at the program bar will be poured during this two week period.
  • Additional drainage will be installed.
  • Steel deliveries and erection begin June 24 and will continue through August.

What to Expect

  • Regular work hours will be Monday – Friday, between 7 a.m. – 6 p.m., in accordance with town regulations.
  • The project team is working Saturdays in order to keep the project moving ahead on schedule.
  • Construction vehicles will travel to and from the site through Thompson lot and Route 120.
  • No deliveries will be made via Tyler Road, except for the entry/exit of a crane. *** NOTE – cranes (2) will arrive at the site on June 26 and 27. We still expect that they will be able to access the site via the Thompson Lot, however we have worked out a back-up plan with Hanover Police Dept. If necessary, the cranes will be brought in via E. Wheelock St. to Valley Rd. Extension to Valley Rd. to Tyler Rd (or Chase).  The HPD has agreed to provide an escort through the neighborhood, and this should take ~15 minutes. ***
