Dana Hall Academic Renovation

About the Project

Extensive renovations to Dana Hall, former home to the biomedical library, are underway and will provide space for faculty offices and workspaces, teaching and conference spaces, a graduate student lounge, and a small grab-and-go café with an informal lounge/seating area and outdoor terrace. The building will also provide a location and on-campus identity for the Guarini School of Graduate & Advanced Studies. Renovations will replace all mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems and will include a broad array of sustainability and high-performance building features. The project is anticipated to receive LEED certification.

Once this academic building is complete, sitework on the former Gilman site and around Dana will include much-improved pedestrian access from the central campus to the north end, including a pedestrian bridge spanning the sunken lawn on the west side of Dana. Parking will also be added to support approximately 60 new spaces, and will connect to the Maynard parking lot.
