Dana Hall Academic Renovation

About the Project

Extensive renovations to Dana Hall, former home to the biomedical library, are complete and the building is fully occupied for winter term. This beautiful, light-filled space provides a home base for the Guarini School of Graduate & Advanced Studies, as well as a graduate student lounge, faculty offices and workspaces, two classrooms, and a grab-and go cafe called Ramekin that is run by Dartmouth Dining. The building includes a broad array of sustainability and high-performance building features, and is anticipated to receive LEED certification.

A few lingering projects will be completed in warmer weather.  Fencing around the south side of the building will remain in place to enable work on the glass curtain wall. Outstanding projects include:

  • Pedestrian bridge on the building's west side (between Remsen and Dana) to open in the summer
  • Landscaping
  • A Rooftop terrance to open in the summer
  • Installation of roof top solar panels later in 2020

Upcoming Project Milestones

  • September, 2018: Begin renovation
  • January, 2019: 60-space Dana parking lot open
  • January, 2020: Construction complete for winter term
