Ship Packages Directly from Hinman Mail

Hinman Mail is excited to introduce a new service: shipping packages via USPS and Federal Express from its location in the Hopkins Center.

This service provides one-stop mailing for students who can now pick up their mail and packages and ship packages from the same site. Employees can ship packages directly from Hinman Mail too. There is no need to go to a Post Office or another retail location to ship packages via FedEx.

“I think the students will be really excited,” said John Nadeau, who runs Hinman Mail’s daily operations. “This will make it much more efficient for both students and employees.”

For years, Hinman has been the receiving site for student packages delivered daily by the Hanover Post Office, FedEx and UPS. The Hinman staff receive, process and store the packages until they are picked up by undergraduate and graduate students. Now with this new package shipping service, FedEx Express and USPS will pick up packages at 4pm daily from the Hinman Office. Hinman is working with FedEx's Ground and Home Delivery unit to determine the daily pick-up time for these services.

Because United Parcel Service (UPS) cannot guarantee a package delivery rate, packages shipped via UPS will not be serviced by Hinman. However, UPS will continue to pick up at the Hinman Mail Office any packages with pre-paid UPS shipping labels. Other packages can be shipped via UPS at Hanover True Value.

See the Hinman Mail website for information on how to ship packages through Hinman Mail.
